What happened here?!

Okay, I'm gone for a day and everything changes.

I go to the homepage for MQ, and go to forums...and it's going to magatroid.com instead of metroidquarantine.com

Did I miss something?

Apparently Cannon changed the domain name in the forums from Metroid Quarantine (http://boards.metroidquarantine.com) to Magatroid (http://magatroid.com/forum/). I believe it's to prevent copyright issues with Nintendo.

The main site is still the same, http://metroidquarantine.com but that one is currently stagnant, with sporadic updates on Pulse.

:p

No he wanted to associate the forums with the magazine. I don't think copyright had anything to do with anything.

You are correct. I changed the domain to avoid trademark issues

<.<

Nintendo has a fair use policy I believe though, so it wouldn't really matter, but yea the real reason was to associate the forums with the magazine >.>

Yeah. A copy right is a little c in a circle, a trade mark is a superscript TM.

...

Also, a copyright is basically already there when you create something, usually something intangible. You just have to register it. Like music or ideas.

A trademark is probably the same, but for tangible things. Like...toys. Or video games.

It's not really a long story, but Warner Bros sent me and my internet provider(Charter) a cease and desist letter and email for downloading a movie "illegally". They insisted that charter disable my internet for my activity. So yeah I know "they" will come after you

Samus you are probably one of the rare cases where a pirate gets caught. I know about 40 people that pirate music and sometimes other stuff. Some of them use Limewire which is supposed to be the most unsafe way of downloading music, and out of all of those people not one has been caught. Just putting that out there.

DO WHAT YOU WANT 'CUZ A PIRATE IS FREE! =D

Srsly, I've prolly pirated at least ~$10k worth of computery stuff. Tons of music in lossless quality, Photoshop CS3 and 4, Nero, Roxio, xvid, C&C Generals: Zero Hour, Doom, C&C 3, Warcraft 2 & 3, Starcraft, Diablo 1 & 2, Black and White, C&C Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge, WinRAR, Stardock stuff, Kaspersky, like two other anti-virusy things I can't remember, and a bunch of stuff I don't remember. Pirates are so much better than ninjas.
