I am hoping to see this movie, just because of the whole new movie-technology thing. Though when I'll see it, I have no idea. I'm a bit more caught up on Christmas at the moment :P

It's seriously awesome.

By the way, one of the best parts of the movie is the realism behind (most of) the technology. It takes place in the year 2154, btw, but most of the military technology shown in the movie is incredibly plausible.

Some of the crazier stuff (I'll let you see it for yourself) may not seem realistic, but...those robots the soldiers fought in? Incredibly plausible, in fact. I can easily see something like that becoming commonplace within the next fifty years.

Whoa man I haven't posted in an eternity...

Well dude, I just got back from the movie theater since I wanted to see this movie.

Okay...

Seriously, for me, it was just another movie. The CGI was pretty jaw dropping no doubt so if you like that kind of stuff then run to the nearest movie theater and see it. But outside of that, it was pretty weak in most departments. The characters were lame (actually, the cast is exactly like Pocahontas. the good guy invader, the bad guy invader, the chief, the chief's daughter and love interest, the jealous warrior etc.) and the story has been told tons of times. Tise is pretty much just Pocahontas + Dances with Wolves + Aliens/Terminator + The Smurfs. The movie just didn't leave an impression on me and the technology presented in the movie was just your typical space marines stuff. In my opinion, the movie is a 5/10, but I'm the exception not the rule. If you want some stomach punching action and really good CGI then don't let me stop you.

BUT, it does have Sigourney Weaver in it, and for me, her acting alone is enough to get me to fork over some cash.
